Who Am I?
My name is Sherry Finkel Murphy, CFP®, RICP®, ChFC®. I’ve been a technologist, sales leader, career coach, and a financial planner. A client called me Hada Madrina de Buenas Ideas Financieras (translation: “Fairy Godmother of Good Financial Ideas”). I liked that, so I added a nickname my husband, Fred, gave me (Molly, which the Urban Dictionary defines as a “good friend,”) and Voila! A conveniently alliterative persona was born.
I’ve recreated myself in my 30s, 40s, 50s, and now, again, in my 60s. Think it’s too late to do something you’ve wanted to do for who knows how long? It’s not. I’m here to tell you can — and should — rework your life to suit your needs, lifestyle and expectations. You have been of service to others. It’s time to reclaim control to live in accordance with your values.
Think you are underfunded for retirement? Don’t understand money? I want you to know – correction, I need you to know-- that you have more runway than you think. And you will have enough time to set things right and thrive in your later years.
Think you know what retirement looks like? Sister, this is not your mother’s second half. Buckle up. Lose the 20th-century conventional wisdom, because we’re not young and not done.
